1980 LOTUS ECLAT 521 £4,600 ovno. I am selling my 1980 Lotus Eclat 521 with approx 67,000 genuine miles on the clock. I am only the second owner and the car has been in my possession for approximately 20 years. During that time the car has had an extensive amount of major work done to it including but not limited to the following: Fitting of a new galvanized genuine Lotus chassis which was also Waxoyled to further improve its longevity. Full rebuild of the gearbox with a new clutch, etc. fitted at the same time. Rear trailing arm units shot blasted, painted and sprayed prior to injecting with Waxoyl to further improve their longevity. Replacement of all fuel lines (replaced with braided where appropriate) and brake pipes. Replacement of springs and shock absorbers all around. Replacement of all bushes and refurbishment of all suspension components. Refurbishment of all wheels. I have receipts for all components that have been replaced. This vehicle is not your normal Lotus Eclat that has not been given the TLC it deserves. I have spent the money where necessary to keep this vehicle in very good condition. Mechanically, electrically, interior and bodywork wise it is in excellent condition. The car has never let me down and I have visited most countries in Europe during my ownership. I am happy for any inspection to be performed on the vehicle, because I am confident that all is in good working order. Although this vehicle is not 'Concourse', as it has been used rather than preened and pampered, the price I am asking for it reflects the fact that its new owner will take possession of one of the better Eclats for sale at this current time. I am very reluctant to sell the car, which has given me a lot of enjoyment, but my future plans unfortunately mean that I need a more practical vehicle. I am happy to clarify upon request.
